Check to see if timer relay for shut off solenoid is working.... May be blown fuse, may be bad relay timer, may be bad solenoid.... Shutdown relay/timer supplies 12VDC to shut down solenoid for about 10 seconds when key goes to off position.... Information supplied is rather sketchy....

The fuel cut off solenoid failing to operate would not explain the wide open throttle.

Assuming OP wouldn't have left the throttle open, it seems like there is more than one problem.

I have a 2010 GC2400 with a stuck throttle cable. it costs 35$. pretty sure thats more than what this topic is about.

I hope he's not describing a runaway. Or the problem may already have solved itself, catastrophically. "Won't shut off" and "running wide open" are generally not a good combination for a diesel.

Definitely need more information.

Not if it's pulling from elsewhere. On a few occasions I've seen them pull oil from the crankcase and burn it instead of the fuel. No shutting that off until the bang or seizure unless you can seal the intake or get some sort of inert gas into the intake to cut off oxygen.

then you don't deal with a 3 cln iseki massey like many of us in this topic do. twist that lever it shuts off.
hell sometimes getting it to fire is an issue.
this is not a 2 stroke Detroit diesel.

Doesn't have to be a 2-stroke to pull oil from a leak somewhere. I've had it happen on a wore-out 3 cylinder Yanmar...
