Hi folks. I know I was hunting a JD, but I just got priced a Massey Ferguson 1240, 4WD, 28 HP, 16 speed reg. shift, Rear PTO, good tires, 600 hours for $12,000. It comes with the following attachments: bushhog, tiller, cultivator, boom pole, aerator, auger, ridge disk, 7' mowing sickle, harrow, 6' scrape blade, rake, corn planter, cutaway harrow, scoop pan, turning plow, and a 6'x12' trailer. The owner says many pieces of equipment have only been used once or twice.

Is this a deal?

Need help in a hurry.

I know little about the pricing of the small Massey Fergusons, but the attachments you have mentioned add up to quite alot of $. It sounds like a good deal, but if you gave me the model numbers of the attachments, I could probably get a MSRP for most of them. I will try to find out what a new 1240 costs.

I would say that sounds like a very good deal if the tractor has been well maintained and is in good shape. I saw a package special on the 1240 at Outdoor Power Equip that has next to no implements compared to what you have stated!!!

What a deal, I wouldn't let that one get away, if the 1240 is in the hp range that you need. Only problem is that you will have to buy a loader later.

Sad to say, but I had to pass it up. My wife may be losing her job, so it might be touch and go for a while. Doubt spending money on a tractor would be a good idea.

Thanks for the help though. I passed the deal to a friend of mine who snatched it right up.
