I have an 806 Internationl with a front end loader. I need brackets to put on my Massey 285 and put the loader on it. Is there brackets that are made to do this?
I have the Westendorf product guide and it would appear that a WL-42 might be too big for your Massey. The loaders recommended for your tractor are: WL-21 or 27, TA-25, 26, 26P, and 26-12. Those loaders all have 800-1000 lbs. less lift capacity and also less lift height, which probably means a shorter frame. I'd do some measuring to see if it's a good fit or not. It may stick out front too far and have too much leverage on the tractor. I'm not familiar with Masseys, but when I was looking for a loader tractor, I was told you needed to get into the 3XX series to get a good front axle for loader use. If you go ahead with moving the loader, I think all the WL's use the same basic mounts. I adapted John Deere mounts to my Case and it was pretty easy to do. The Westendorf bracket chart shows the 806 and 285 both use a "type 2" mount so I would think it would be adaptable. Its very likely you will need to do some fabrication, but the 806 should give you the general idea. You could contact Westendorf for a price on mounting brackets, but be sitting down when you ask for a price. Somebody probably has mounts laying around somewhere, but how do you find them? I did some looking for mounts for my Case and gave up. Westendorf has a pretty good web site: Front-End Loaders by Westendorf: loader for tractor, shade canopy, wagons, manure & landscaping equipment.
