MF GC1725M
I bought a 2019 MF GC1725M Sub Compact Tractor with 60 inch mower w FEL - Very nice machine- My question is when starting the tractor cold and raising the bucket and mower the hydraulics are quiet. After operating the the mower or FEL or just running the tractor - I start to get a hydraulic squeal after the tractor warms up and when I lower the RPMs, when I raise the FEL or mower the noise will go away but will come back , the noise goes away if the mower/3pt hitch lift leaver is is moved around center I m thinking a shuttle valve is not centering ,but then again I would think the mower or 3pt hitch would raise. The dealer was out once and felt the hoses to the power steering was vibrating , every time he would move them the noise would go away, Has anyone had this issue , Thanks in advanced for any insite - tractor has 12hrs

This is common on the new GCs. Massey is aware of the issue. I have read there is a bulletin for the dealers about a repair. If I remember right it has something to do with modifying the pressure return valve spring. Some people have said this has fixed it. Others have said it only helped for a little while. I have not had the issue with my 19 GC1723 yet. I have 35 hours on it.

I heard their was a relief valve issue and something about a spring being shortened. Don;t know if this is your issue, but dealer should be able to find out.

To All: My MF dealer called me Monday and asked if the tractor was still making the hydraulic noise , The service manager sent a tech to my location and connected a test gauge on the tractor hydraulic system and started the tractor and read the pressure which was approx 225 / 227 PSI - MF put out a service bulletin on this noise issue, MF indicated that the pressure range should be 180 PSi to 228 PSI and that the temporary fix is to shorten the spring on the pressure hydraulic re-leaf valve. The service tech removed the valve and cut one coil out of the spring and re installed the valve and retested - The test results was 200 PSI and no noise. I ran the tractor for an hour today mowing and everything was normal , no noise. Just wanted to let folks know that this temporary repair/fix worked. My dealer service manager indicated that MF is looking into a redesign of this hydraulic re-leaf valve. Hope this help other Massey Ferguson Sub Compact GC1723M owners. Tractor has 26 hrs

The GC1700 1723m series sub-compact tractors use an open center hydraulic system powered by a single gear-driven pump. This type of system provides the performance required in the industry today while maintaining the compact design, reliability and economical price. New for the GC1700 Series is the integrated design of the factory installed joystick. The factory installed joystick is optional on the GC1705, but is standard equipment on all other GC1700 models.
The factory joystick is now integrated into the front dash panel and steering column area with the valves hidden from view. This new design gives a cleaner look and does not obstruct the operator痴 forward view. The joystick lever is positioned for a comfortable, easy reach by the operator. Four quick-connect couplers are accessible at the front right side of the platform and allow the operator to easily disconnect the loader hydraulics when removing the loader. The joystick can be used for other front mounted implements requiring hydraulics.

Mine is brand new 2021 MF GC1725M and it is sometimes is louder than other times. I would have thought the newer ones would have this resolved.

So I saw this post and I was experiencing the exact issue. I have a new 2021 gc1723eb and once warmed up a significantly loud squeal. It would only go away when I moved a hydraulic control lever. I noticed somewhere someone that had this issue found it disappeared after removing and reinstalling backhoe. Also read about hydraulic couplers being incorrectly installed so the 3 point hitch would not raise. So I removed my backhoe...and I also had hydraulic couplers incorrectly installed so my 3 point hitch would not raise. I reconfigured the couplers...3 point then raised. I exercised the 3 point hitch several times up and down. Put backhoe back on. I have used several hours since... no squealing. Is it possible that air was trapped and never removed from the 3 point hitch system causing vibration in the hydraulics ?. The hitch could not have been operated from factory the way the couplers were configured. So far so good. No squealing.
