Massey Ferguson 481

I have a question for the Massey dealer,Tractorracer17 I think.Have you sold many 481's? None of the dealers in this area have sold any. They say they sell a lot of 471's and some 491's and 492's but just don't sell the 481's for some reason. They seem to think that most people don't want to pay the difference for just 10 more horsepower or they will pay more and get the 491. One dealer also told me that the new tier 11 Perkins engines in the 471 and 481 are identical and that both dyno out usually between 71 and 73 horsepower. Have you had any experince with this ? Thanks in advance for you valuable feedback!

I'd sure be upset if I paid more for a tractor and didn't get the advertised horsepower or that a lower priced model gets the same hp as my higher priced model. I can't see MF going to the trouble of designating a separate model and then having the same hp in both models and claiming different powers between the 2 models.

What prices are they quoting for the models?
In New England the 471 quotes for around $30k with loader.

We mostly sell the 471 and 492. I'm not sure why, but the customers seem to be happy with the 471 and not need to step up to the 481.
