Massey Ferguson 275 Full Restoration With Pics!

Spent a year restoring my old 1976 Massey. She had 1428 original hours. Did a full restoration on it and made it 100% factory original. I even tracked down a 1970's N.O.S. fuel filter to finish her off!

Very nice indeed. I need to come up with the OEM tool box for our 1976 265 MF with 1300 actual hours that the late FIL bought new. Wish we had the basic transmission like yours instead of the Multi-Power option because the tractor free wheels down hills if Multi-Power is in LOW plus it is something else to break.

Nice choice with the standard trans. Far more reliable than multi-power. A friend of mine down the road used to work at his father Massey dealer until 1994 when they closed. N.H. Flicker and Sons. He helped me get the details exactly right. He told me that the tool boxes were put on at the dealership and that the dealers were buying them from whoever was cheapest. The box I had on mine was labeled from Des Moines, Iowa. But the tractor came from the local area. So if its any help, watch on ebay and you'll find a box that is pretty close to the time period boxes they were putting on the trators in the 70's.

Engine too? I would think 1400 hours would be just breaking in.

Your right. Only a soft parts rebuild on the engine and trans except for a few minor things like a hand fuel pump and others.

They will be very happy with it. That series of Masseys has a solid mechanical heritage along with a classic cool look.
