Front-End Loader Massey Ferguson 232 loader on a MF 240 tractor

hello

I have removed the loader off my MF 232 in order to paint it. When I removed the large support that bolts to underside and side of tractor under the transmission area, I noticed that the cover plate under the tractor chassis had been removed - likely when loader was installed. Is it necessary to remove this cover plate or is there an issue if it is not in place.

If there is no cover plate then debris and mud will get up in the bell housing and gunk up the clutch. I would fabricate a cover plate to keep the clutch clean. It is nice that the MF have an inspection plate, on some brands you would have to split the tractor to adjust the clutch.
