That's strictly dealer specific. My local Massey dealer has woods backoes on many of their units. Messick's a regular here who has a New Holland franshise not far from me has bushhogs on their New Hollands. My local Kubota dealer who is a large woods dealer as well only has Kubota backhoes on thier machines.

It really all depends on the dealer.

As far as a 3 point backhoe, I don't think any manufacturer will warranty damages caused by the backhoe.

It sounds like I should find a dealer that isn't so quick to tell me I'm up a creek, then.

Sounds like you gave yourself good advise to me.

I know you're on the fence between Massey and Kubota. Both are very fine machines. I like certain aspects of each myself. I don't think you will go wrong with either, so let the dealer dictate where you go.

The current MF op manuals state not to use a 3 pt hoe, must use hoe with full subframe. MF (and other tractor OEM's) runs their own hoe on their tractor for many thousands of cycles in different load conditions to insure the integrity of the tractor is not compromised before releasing the hoe to production. Will fitters do not have that luxuary since it is very costly and time consuming process. In the end, if a failure occurs, the burden of proof falls on the willfitter to show that they used same test procedures as the OEM and that their product didn't cause the failure to the tractor. That is why some dealers shy away from offering aftermarket backhoes.
