Massey 65 lost power

L have a 1964 muti power 65 while i was bushhogging today started losing power and black smoke when i put a load on the motor is this the fuel filters stopping up motor will still rev up just lost power no motor noise at all sounds normal help if you can

Black smoke = soot, oil, unburned ==> incomplete fuel combustion

Among possible causes:

Incorrect fuel injection timing
Dirty or worn fuel injectors
Over fuelling
Faulty turbocharger, or turbo lag
Faulty or dirty exhaust gas recycling (EGR) system
Incorrect valve clearance
Incorrect fuel to air ratio
Dirty or restricted air cleaner systems
Over loading the engine
Poor fuel quality
Cool operating temperatures
High altitude operation
Excessive carbon build-up in combustion and exhaust spaces

I would start by checking your air filter(s) and connecting hoses for blockages and dirt. Cleaning and replacing these parts is easy.

Gas or Diesel??

My guess is a plugged air cleaner.

thanks will try that tommrow have ordered all 3 fuel filters today just got this tractor 2 weeks ago.

cleaned air filter worked good til it got warm then started losing pwer and black smoke again could it be the copper washer at the injectors or nozzels.
