Hi Dave, Sorry for the delay - life got in the way a bit. Looks like a makeover, but I reconditioned the engine because it needed it. I only painted it at our youngest daughter Jennifer's suggestion. She would quite often bring me a coffee and biscuits or cake, and asked me what I was doing, commenting it was a huge job. I appreciated her interest (and refreshments) and would explain it was worn, but would be as fit as, and run, just like a new engine when I was finished. She then replied I should paint it and make it look like a new engine ... an obvious and practical thought for a teenage girl, but delivered so convincingly I just had to admit she was right! I painted it, even though it was by then refitted. I had her help too - she held the starter button while I sprayed the front pulley nice and evenly. As an afterthought, I painted the steering links to improve the overall looks in the engine area. Note ... she drives both our tractors quite confidently - the 135 since she was about eleven years old.
Here are some pics.
As purchased, and during engine work:

Alternator area ..... not a location to easily photograph!

The adjusting strap has bends to allow for the alternator's offset lower mount. I don't know exactly what shape the strap should be - this tractor when I bought it had a horrid Motorcraft unit from a Ford almost falling off it. I fitted a normal everyday Bosch 65Amp unit from a Mercedes Benz 280E (in the graveyard down the back) and reshaped the strap a little. It has one bolt through it to the engine timing case. I also added a spacer and a longer bolt. I'll post a pic (I thought I had one) of the upper mount - that will show you how easy the job is. I'm really glad I did that job - the machine has 5 x 55watt lights, but that unit would run about 15 with no trouble. I will do the same conversion to our 135 soon.
