Massey 168 Hydraulics problem

I have just got my ram reconditioned for my plough.
when i activate the ram on the ground it goes in and out, but when i activate it on the plough is cant move it. i have moved the wheels on the plough manually so the plough is not seized.

the ram has no grunt!!

so it must be the pump?? i undid the filler nut under the seat, only to get sprayed with oil, so i dont know what to do next!!

how do i check or work out what is wrong??

the tractor only has 800hours on it, so its still like new (even though its a 1974 model)

check to make sure that 3pl draft lever is in constant pumping (right at the top of the quadrant from memory ) I'm sure that this should be on your model will have to wait to go to work tommorow to check for sure

ok, i never looked at that to be honest. next to the constant pumping mechanism, there is a response time lever and dip stick. the oil in this is like brand new, so is this the oil reservior for the hydraulics??

yes this is the dipstick for the hydraulics / rear end as they share the same oil the gearbox is seperate to this you are lucky that the oil is not milky as this happens alot with older low hour machines due to them drawing in condensation and usually not getting warm enough to to steam it off good luck with hydraulics sorry did not get chance to look at manual today

i was just curious as this oil is like brand new, and after i disconnect the oil lines, they are blackish. anyway im going to the farm this weekend to have another go at it!!!!
