Anyone ever build their own martin houses from gourds? I bought a packet of seeds last spring and planted them and I'm overrun with 'martin house gourds'. I talked to a guy one time about making them and it seemed pretty easy, and a good winter project, but I don't recall the details. Anyone ever done it and have any advice?
On the subject of martin house gourds, those vines stink. I walk out in that patch of my garden and I get knocked back by the stink. Smells similar to burnt rubber to me.
