Many thanks and a new (to me) tractor coming

First off wanted to thank everyone for their great help and wonderful advise. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Friday my new to me 1992 JD 318 will be coming home. It has a triple bagger system a 54" hydraulic front blade with both up/down and right/left angle adjustments, and a hydraulic tiller, OH and wheel weights and bar tires on the back. It has 452 hours on the meter and decent tread on the tires. The paint is a little rough but it runs good just passes a little smoke on startup after it has been sitting without running for a couple of weeks but everything works so all is good.

Glad to hear you got a good machine! I don't have any personal experience with the JD 318 but I have heard a lot of great things about them. Let us know how it works out for you!

That is the last year Deere made the 318, so you managed to find the "newest" possible tractor with very low hours! Congratulations! You couldn't touch a tractor with the same features and capabilities new for under $8000 with no attachments (Think Deere "X" series). You might want to check out www.weekendfreedommachines.org as a resourse of info on your 318. That website is dedicated to 1992 and older Deere garden tractors with a terrific amount of info in their archives on repair and restoration.
