New to tractors. I have recently become a proud owner of an LB 1914 and have been using it. Trial and error. How do I shift into the "high" gears. There is a 'handle' on the left side of the seat near the floor. not the pto, not the tw/fw drive, it just comes straight up from underneath from the transmission and it doesnt move at all, although I havent tried it while moving. Also as per the service manual I was trying to take out some of the play from the clutch but one of bolts is spot welded. Am I missing something?
and lastly I have been working with a box blade and getting quite a bit of rub on the inside right tire. What is the best adjustment for that. Should I tighten up the left chain?

New to tractors. I have recently become a proud owner of an LB 1914 and have been using it. Trial and error. How do I shift into the "high" gears. Right beside your left hip will be a H/L lever mounted to the fender. There is a 'handle' on the left side of the seat near the floor. not the pto, not the tw/fw drive, it just comes straight up from underneath from the transmission and it doesnt move at all, although I havent tried it while moving. Does it look more like a foot pedal? I'm thinking it's the posi loc. Also as per the service manual I was trying to take out some of the play from the clutch but one of bolts is spot welded. Am I missing something? That is right all you are doing is making the rod longer or shorter by turning the rod. be verry carefull when adjusting that clutch it is a dual clutch and if you do it wrong you can tear it up real easy.and lastly I have been working with a box blade and getting quite a bit of rub on the inside right tire. What is the best adjustment for that. Should I tighten up the left chain? With the attachment raised up move it side to side adjusting the side link chains to allow them to come away from the tires and keep the attachment centered.

Hope this helps

Ok, the posi is on the right. There are three levers on the left. One shows a pic of frnt and rear wheels connected or not. The second, and tallest, shows 'pto' in center of diagram with a rabit (forward) and a 1000, and turtle to the rear with (540) and neutral in the center. When in neutral, the pto doesn't turn. Moving this lever doesn't seem to effect the speed of the tractor in any way only the rotation of the pto. Then the short mystery handle nearer the floorboard. With the engine off there is no play or movement what so ever! Also, what is a normal operating rpm when working with the fel? I have been pushing up the hand throttle to 1k as my idle speed. Should that be more or less? As far as the clutch play, the rear nut is the one tack welded so there is no way to 'turn' the rod w/o disengaging it from the pedal, turning it, then reinserting it. The book says it should have about an inch of play but mine seems to be over twice that and the f/r shifter grinds a bit if I'm not patient a gental waiting for 'mesh'!

doc, i have an older lb1914, so i'm not sure they match. my pto lever (1000 rpm-off-540 rpm) is highest, on the left fender. on the floor nearest the fender is my 2wd/4wd, and the hi-lo range is inside that on the floor, and it's taller if i remember. it travels almost the same distance as the 2wd/4wd lever.

Well its official. That third lever doesnt move! I am pretty sure its the hi low lever and tried shifting it foward or back from all gears in forward and reverse with the clutch in with it out etc. etc. It is the lever found the closest to the seat and short. It comes out and straight up from the trany directly under the seat.

Any ideas why it wont budge?

The high/low lever on every Kioti I've driven are notorious for being hard to move, Get a can of PB Blaster and soak the contact points of the lever including where it goes into the tranny. Work it slowly and is will probably free up.
