Just bought a used international manure spreader Can I use it to spread drain rock?
Or dirt It has a control to stop the beater so it may advance the drain rock and fall off the back.
Yes it will be slow going but should ask the question.\

I wouldn't recommend that idea. The chains and gear box are set up for manure that slides relatively easily. If you wanted to try and load it lightly I don't think it would be worth the effort. If you put a metal floor in, it might work ok ?

Weight of rock will cause the drive chains to break.

If you don't care what happens to the manure spreader than go ahead on'er. By and large you will end up wrecking the manure spreader.

there aren't too many chain and sprocket assemblys that can handle stones getting in between and still keep working. you'd be better off with a jd it would last about an hour longer.

You could set it up like a 'flow boy' trailer. They use a belt and rounded sides.

I've been told that a manure spreader is the only piece of equipment that JD won't stand behind.
