Wondering if any of you can steer me to who makes these. I was looking at a John Deere baler today at an auction and the baler had 4 hoses running into a multiplier or divider mounted on the baler tongue with a pull rope which would run to the tractor seat. I suppose it was some sort of ratchet or spring operated valve. The baler had 2 hoses for the gate and two hoses for the tie but the setup allowed for use of just 2 remotes on the tractor without using a divider with electric solenoids.

I didn't look at it close enough to get a brand name as I thought I'd google search around to find one but so far no luck. Any ideas who makes or sells something like this? I did take a pic I can post but its not as clear as I thought it was.

They used to be popular. I haven’t seen one offered for sale in years. In this day and age, pulling a rope is far too reliable and too much work as compared to switches, wires and solenoids. I’d look at Surplus Center and Bailey Hydraulics and maybe Baum Iron. Search manual hydraulic diverter.

Thanks! Been searching high and low online but all I can come up with is the manual type that has a 90 lever like this Manual Hydraulic Multiplier, SCV Splitter / Diverter Valve Kit with Couplers, NPT

Most are going to solenoid types for use with cabs but in my case I'd rather have a simple mechanical device. Here is a crude picture of one mounted on the JD baler

I may stop by the JD dealer to see if they have outlets for these.

It should be way cheaper if you go to an hydraulic shop rather than JD. They might try to sell you another overpriced remote kit or some sort of diverter valve.

Ditto what RickB stated there are much better choices to operate 2 different hyd circuits off of 1 control valve than the manually(pull rope) control valve pictured below. If your mind is set there's one on Ebay. AE3538 John Deere Hydraulic Selector Valve | eBay
Fasse offers an electric controlled multiplier valve for about $425

Tx Jim Thank you, that is exactly what I was looking for but I didn't realize it was the green painted gold brand!! The price of that made the baler selling at the auction much cheaper I guess but yeah I won't be going to price one at JD now. I'll take this info and contact some hydraulic places tomorrow to see what I can get similar.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Could probably make that work but would need a return spring attached to the handle if a rope was used to temporarily switch functions to the baler. Probably would need to drill a hole thru the end of the handle with a pin or bolt to attach the rope and spring. There could be an issue, however, with the handle being hard to move if the valve is under pressure.

They also make a spool type valve. Anyway, easy and cheaper enough to add a lever and a spring rather that buy the JD one for that price.

I really don't understand why these tractor brands need to overprice everything by 1000%.

I can get a solenoid diverter valve for around 150$ plus 50 or 60$ for hoses and get a true 3rd function at the loader. And don't need to pay probably 1200$ to a dealer for the parts.
