I have a 1994 SV4 Mantis Tiller. The gear started to bind suspecting a broken tooth. Remove gear cover and notice one tooth with one side missing. I remove the shaft. Gear does not lift out per youtube/internet instructions that show/say how to do it. I can turn engine rod with hex head that will turn worm gear shaft/worm gear both ways( using an impact wrench and by hand). The worm gear does not lift out even when prying on it with screwdrver. I can move it up about 1/8th inch. The worm gear is loose but doe not lift out. I can't figure what is holding teeth against the worm shaft. I've removed retaining ring at base of housing. Taping on shaft from top does not move shaft out because teeth are still in contact with worm shaft. Any and all suggestions are needed. I can put it all back together and run about two minutes before binding again. I need to get gear and shaft out to get the broken tooth out. Plenty of gease inside.
