Hey guys- I have a small issue that I'm running up against and was wondering if y'all have experianced it before. I have about 10 very large 40+ year old live oaks in my yard. My plan was to rent a 60' articulated 4x4 manlift to trim them up this fall before the rains started (this weekend). I've called all of the normal local rental companies (that I've done business with before) and they are all refusing to rent it to me as an individual. They want a big name company's PO not a cash ticket. I completely understand liability issues especially with this type of machine, but certainly they could rent it to me and make me sign a hold harmless aggreement and take my credit card right? Their rates are ranging from $300 to $550 per day so it's not cheap, but I was willing to pay that as opposed to several thousand for an arborist. What say you guys?:confused2:

We are renting a 60' JLG right now for $200 a day and the weekly rate is even less.

I have rented at several local places without even showing a proof of ins. and paying cash.

Keep looking and find someplace that wants your business.
