Hi Redbug,

I've thought about the spraying as an additional service that I could offer, however, in my neck of the woods the regulations on spraying are very strict which leads to more problems than what it is worth. Also, there are several large companies in my region whose whole job consist of spraying after the mowing. Unless the regulations change (Ya right...) or one of the companies that does the spraying goes out of business, I don't really want to be in that field of business. I can always sub that work if it comes to that from a company that has all the certs for applying the spray and the facilities for storing the stuff. Of course, after I say all this, watch the market change and my company start spraying within a few years .

Ryan- nice to be back over here!

Still trying to catch up on all the projects that I have completed within the last year here.

Next up, a slight change in projects from the usual land clearing work. It felt nice to get back to my dirt work roots!

This project was on Cape Cod at my family's house last July. After recently inheriting the house, my family and my aunt and uncle began the task of completely renovating the house, inside and out. I got the job of doing all the outside work.

The first phase of the project, was regrading the road and parking area in front of the house and installing a timber retaining wall and steps to the front lawn.

Some road regrading pics.

Next came the wall and steps. Also, please enjoy my "work crew" (my parents ). They thought I was having too much fun in the dirt and came out to help.

Looking good. You make that work look easy but we all know it isn't.

Were down trees from too much rain or big wind storms? What are the conditions like day to day? Muddy and sticky or are you able to travel freely? Looks like some of the ground is pretty wet. Yuck!

Keep up the good work!!

Thanks Yellow. Dry ground does not seem to exist up here, so I am very glad that I have a track machine. There are some areas that are firm and you can travel across them easily but other areas are covered by several feet of mud.

The down trees in the previous photos were from an major ice storm that we had last year in which trees were coated with 1-2" of ice. Wind came in behind the storm and just snapped the trees. This year, we had a bunch of rain and the soaked ground allowed the trees to be blown over by the wind. I will post pictures of that work shortly.

And now for the continuation of the previous project! (Thanks for being patient ).

Once the timber was created, it was decided by the powers that be, that we should not stop there, but continue the exterior renovations with a complete new lawn, tear out of an existing, overgrown section of the yard, new patio, new driveway, new retaining walls around the driveway, and a nice new set of granite steps going to the front door of the house. So let the picture frenzy continue!

First up, DEMOLITION! :D I rented a mini ex and started ripping out the stumps from trees that I had taken down the previous fall in preparation for this project.
