I submit that 35 years ago, this "barbaric mutation of a matchbox car and a cricket" was also a well made, capable little machine for it's time.

I fully concede the 6' BackHoe point. I never suggested that I do real work with it! But it sure is nice to have around the homestead.

I do understand the value of something like this, for historical and collectors purposes I mean. I guess my point was...well...just look at it. Very, very scary looking from an operator's perspective. There aren't enough words to describe the ways this looks like a rolling safety hazard. Of course this is from a modern perspective.

Please bear in mind that the FEL is the part that is really making my skin crawl. The rest of the tractor is a fine piece of metal. Quite fine. No problems there...

Really. That FEL just bothers me. Would look great in a Sears museum. Or at Ripley's.

Here's my 34 year old tractor

That's HOT! Honestly, I hope mine looks that good after 34 years. I hope to have more original paint, but the "Primer Camo" works well for that machine.

I was getting on a ferry in OBX, NC to go to Ocracoke Island and saw this incredible Gravely. Looked just like a regular lawn tractor...steering wheel, proportions, engine hood, everything...but it was HUGE! Probably a solid 3X the size of a regular lawn tractor...comparable in size to a B7610, for example. But it looked JUST like a regular lawn tractor. Engine was under the seat, so I presume it was some early hydro-driven industrial mower, but it was before some guy had the thought of shuttling the front wheels and making a ZTR, so they just made it looks like a gigantic Toro.

I'm all up into old stuff. But you gotta admit...just a little difference between your tractor and the original picture. Just not seeing $2,500. $250 and my remark probably would have been limited to "wow, that's crazy looking". $2,500 and the guy is posturing it as something quite different than a simple lawnmower...sorry, but that FEL just doesn't count.
