making brush rake for mini-x/small backhoe, Teeth, or no teeth???

Sorry no pics as of yet, but I plan on making a 4 finger brush rake for (personal) use with smaller equipment (that has a thumb) The oem deere piece has teeth to it, but most others I see are smooth, What are the pros and cons of either???

I've never seen a brush rake without teeth.
