Hello all, I have narrowed my search to these two tractors, both with loaders and syncroshuttle. My price found on both are 21500.00(mah) and 21,925.00(kubota). What I need help with is user info. Have seen few re-occuring problems with mahindra such as spongy shifting, steer linkage, and minor electrical. However,I can find few people that post anything about the L4400 other than light in the rear and lifting power. Any info would be appreciated.

You may want to check the L4400 a little more closely, Kubota doesn't offer it with a synchro-shuttle transmission, or any shuttle shift at all for that matter.

It has either a HST or gear drive tranny. The gear drive has 4 speeds + high and low range ahead in all 4, + one range in 4 gears in reverse. Total of 12 choices, none synchronized, and all requiring use of the clutch to shift.

your right, sorry, was thinking of what dealer said.that I had to stop to shift except 3 to 4. but dealer talk is dealer talk. not one of my biggest worries. new buyer just trying to make good decision.

Thanks bigbull338, Thats why i'm here finding brand specific problems. as far as the tractor goes right of the bat i'll be clearing 3 acres of 3" to 6" pines for horse pasture and just mantaining hunting land after that. looks like Kubota, can't find any dirt on L4400.

Dex3361 and overzd both have L4400's and really like them. I have not read of any problems with that model in reading on here for quite some time.

I don't even consider Mahindra due to poor representation in my area, but from reading posts from Mahindra owners, they are also very happy with their tractors, so as bigbull338 said, check them both out and you will know which fits you the best.

Good luck in your search for just the right tractor, lots of good ones out there.

Thanks , going back to both dealers to look closer. Both are close with good parts departments. Without finding anything bad wrong with either tractor I'll have to pick like i did my last horse. The one that fits me best.

They are both good tractors, but not really comparable. The Mahindra is a larger Ag utility tractor and the Kubota is a compact. Just compare the weight and lift capacities. The choice should come down to what you intend to do with the tractor.

I cant speak for the Mahindra but I can for the Kubota L4400HST is has been a flawless tractor. It started great all winter long even in the coldest weather. I have run a 6 foot rotary cutter in the brush and in the fields and it handles it well. The FEL is well matched to the machine and I will note that it lacks in the rollback angle of the bucket. The tractor is very stable and is nimble in the woods. The fuel consumption is between 0.5 gallon an hour to
1.5 gallon an hour depending on the load. It is a simple reliable machine that I expect to operate well for 20 or more years. I have about 250 hours on the machine.

Noticed that. But what is the same in kubota? I told the salesman 40hp range,4wd with loader and he said L4400. I have woods clearing, pasture upkeep and help with 80 acres hunting land. Not sure what to do?
