Comparison Mahindra vs Kioti

   / Mahindra vs Kioti #21
No issues with my massey , that don't mean there is none. I seen plenty of issues with dk 40s. They all have problems.

You 'seen' plenty of issues with Kiotis?! Really? Which ones, which year(s), what models? Have you owned a Kioti, or are you just talking out of your hat?
'They all have problems' - which ones? Brands, Models, etc.
Saying something doesn't make it so. Back it up with specific examples.

I've owned two Kiotis: series DK-35se/hst; 1st 2008, put 300+ hours on it then traded to current DK-40se/hst. Both flawless tractors with same KB-2485 backhoe.
See my list of implements etc. I work any equipment I have hard and maintain it myself. I've got over 1200 hours on the second Kioti and NO problems or downtime due to manufacturer or parts failure. Like most the only issues are ones I create by how I use my Kioti.

To the OP take a close look at how folks are fairing with Massey Ferguson, Mahindra, TYM, Cabela's made TYMs etc.
Complete nightmares from what I read on here.
And as to what gets written about Kiotis on TBN, it seems maybe those who buy Kiotis are a bit more motivated to fix things that might break, due to possible overuse or pushing past the limits more than some other tractor buyers, JMHO in this aspect.

Just an interesting observation with regard to the TBN forums....scroll through the Kioti specific forum and the Mahindra specific forum. Mahindra is the number 3 selling tractor in the US and number 1 in the world so one could easily argue there are many more Mahindra's than Kioti's in the US. The observation is, why are there so many more posts in the Kioti forum about problems with Kioti's than there are in the Mahindra forum about Mahindra's?

Hard to draw any conclusions about anything based on internet message boards - your observation may be perfectly accurate yet statistically invalid. I know four Mahindra owners, and only two have not had problems. That doesn't mean 50% of Mahindra tractors have problems. Conversely, the five Kioti owners I know (including myself) had had zero problems - and that doesn't mean Kioti's are 100% trouble-free. I don't know if Mahindra would step up and replace an out-of-warranty engine, but there was a thread a couple of years back where Kioti did. Exceptions don't make the rules.

I really liked the Mahindra tractors I looked at when I was shopping. If the dealer I bought my Kioti from was a Mahindra dealer instead, I'd probably own a Mahindra. If they had both, my head might have exploded trying to decide. As it was, I was choosing between a long-established, professional tractor dealer that sold Kioti, was 30 miles away, and could get the model I wanted, or a finance company that sold trailers and Mahindras on the side, with no parts or service departments, was 90 miles away, and couldn't get me the model I wanted.

Without TBN, I'd probably spent more money for less tractor with a more well-known brand - at least, more well-known to me. I shopped Deere, Mahindra, Kubota, NH, LS, and Kioti. The Deere staff eliminated the brand from consideration. The local Kubota dealer was OK, but failed to close a sale. I lacked the experience with tractors to buy a Mahindra without dealer support. The LS dealer made the Mahindra dealer look good. The NH dealer recommended the Kioti dealer personally - and that spoke volumes to me. The Kioti dealer is friendly, acts like I matter as a customer (even though they have customers who buy half a dozen 100 hp tractors at a time), and has made every effort to be at my service before and after the purchase. I'd be comfortable buying any brand from this dealer - they've earned my trust and my business.

simply cant understand how someone could say that we all have to accept that all tractors have problems when they really don't.
Simply put, all brands of tractors have problems but not all tractors have problems.

But to come here and state that one has to accept the fact that all tractors have problems that will need dealt with is absolutely laughable!

Some of the Mahindras have Daedong engines in them.

The Mahindra company started of as part of a sell off from Case IH, and the older models were just rebranded.

I wouldn’t get too hung up on either brand, your dealer is always going to be the key factor. Buy whichever one you like better and put the dealer support into the equation.

Google it. Mahindra is the top seller in India and China. India is the largest market in the world buying roughly 500,000 tractors per year. 4 out of 10 tractors in India are Mahindra's. They also dominate the market in China which is the #2 market in the world. In 2014 before Mahindra was as well known in the US they had 8% of the US market share which put them in the #3 spot and their popularity and sales have grown from there. They have been the fastest growing brand in the US for several years. They are making their path into the US market the same way Hyundai did with cars, by building a good product and offering the longest warranties of any manufacturer to help them gain the confidence of their customers.

I don't see how that is relevant to support an argument in any way. Toyota sells the most cars in the world and 3rd most in USA. Thus every Toyota is better than every BMW? That is the argument made by Brand X is the #1 selling in the world/country/state/whatever. Has no bearing on which is better - especially when further whittled down to a specific model of Toyota compared to a specific model of BMW. Each will have different aspects which compare favorably vs the other, but only if the individual buyer places value on that aspect.

For what I deemed important, and directly comparing a Mahindra 2638 to a Kioti CK3010, many important things (to me) were very similar. Each had some aspects better than the other. Overall, in that direct comparison and based on what I value most, if making a choice between those two, I would choose the Kioti. But that doesn't mean every Kitoti is better than every Mahindra nor someone else could not compare these two similar machines and place more value on different aspects and feel the Mahindra was right choice.

What about Kubota, John Deere, Newholland, Massey Ferguson, or Yanmar? All of their forums have far and away more posts than Mahindra. To be honest, I don't think Mahinda sells even close the number of tractors as people seem to say they do in the US. Maybe that explains their light forum threads. Best I can find is this list from 2015 of tractor sales of 50hp and up.

Tractor sales breakdown: John Deere still out in front, but Kubota is charging up the outside - NEWS - Farmers Guardian

If someone has a recent link to tractor sales figures I'm interested.
