Howdy all, lady farmer here. I have a Mahindra "00"Seies 5500, it is a 2002. Just change the oil and filter, began cutting hay made a few rounds and tractor started spiting and sputtering up a small hill. Like it is not getting fuel. I changed all the fuel filters, drained fuel tank put in new fuel, ran like new for 15 minutes. Started spiting & sputtering, and I didn't make it back to the barn, it died on me.

I checked the new fuel filter for trash or debris, and it was clean. I pumped the hand pump on the fuel pump, it started, I then bleed the lines of air. It cranked, ran ok for a few minutes and shut off again. Could not get it to crank again. Could the fuel pump have gone out like that, or could it be the water separator. I once had trouble with a JD water separator. It seems like it is not getting fuel. :(

I wonder if a low oil shut off device got activated when you drained the oil.

Check the fuel flow from the tank. Did you check for a screen in the tank when you had it drain. Many of the 00 series has a screen above the shut off valve.
