Tractors are good, any of the implements made by Kodiak suck.

Tell me more... considering a Kodiak landscape rake coming up for sale at a local auction, 4 ft. one that would work well with my eMax 22.

Another aspect of quality is eliminating features that should not be "Cost Reduced". A good example is my MAx28's hydraulic block internal pressure relief.
It has no provision for external adjustment of relief pressure.
Unless the spring is a very high precision, other than shimming there is no way to set the pressure to spec. Relying on precision machine tolerance of the valve and the spring rate to achieve consistent results would no doubt be costly, so why not make it easy to set the correct presure with an adjustment screw?

I think because they do not want people to easily be able to mess with the main system relief pressure. But I'd prefer an adjustment similar to what you see on many spool valves with a locknut and a bolt that fine tunes the relief.

Because you work on stuff... Same reason Mike above doesn't seem to like it much either. What sort of machine or device has man ever created that he hasn't also ended up building certain adjustments and maintenance out of? It is like anything else really...

Pressure relief valves should not be needing adjustment for years and many many thousand of hours.

Which is why they don't make them adjustable and just fix the occasional "quirky" one or replace it...

Fortunately, it only takes 5 minutes to pull the cap, insert a shim and tighten it back up. But then you have to retest, and probably swap to a thinner or thicker shim, etc. It can take a half hour to get it dialed in, whereas a screw adjustment takes just a moment.
