I'm currently considering Mahindra 3016, 1533 & 1538, all in shuttle models, mostly looking at the used market.
The 1533/1538 are identical except the engine program, so weigh nearly the same and they both have the Mahindra 4cl engine-166 cu in..
The 3016 weighs less as it has the Mitshubishi 3 cyl engine w 28 hp and web info says the same wheels.
Is the engine and transmission the only difference between a 3016 and the 1533/1538?
Pricing wise based on the listed MSRP's, there's a huge leap from the 3016 to the 1533/1538's? nearly $3,000, in fact.

Seems illogical for the engine/tranny change ups in size?
My concern is the 3016 won't pull my logs.

The 3016 was renumbered to a 1526. They are both somewhat smaller than the 1533/38. The 3016/1526 being Mitsubishi made are very high quality.

If the 3016 weight is an issue, perhaps you should include 3616 in your possible list. I have a 3616 with rim guard in the rears. This is due entirely because my neighbor has a 3016....and he said if he could buy again, it would be a 3616. Time and again we see huge differences in capabilities for minimal physical differences.

I think the rear tires are larger on the 38's. Other than that the engine programming and nothing else that I know of. Loaders and backhoes for both are KMW made and are the same.

The 1533 and 38s are also Mitsu made tractors. I think Mitsu makes all of the 1500 series machines. Loaders and backhoes are US made by KMW.

My commonly used reference for comparing tractors and their FEL's, etc., is "tractor data" via google which has most models and few mistakes.
I'm still in the market for a tractor and Kioti & Mahindra are my picks.

The Mahindra does not have a DPF while the Kioti does. Don't know about build quality etc. but when I compared the 1500 Mahindras against New Hollands on the same lot I found the Mahindras were finished much nicer than the NH machines.
