Mahindra Max 28... Not Starting ![/h]

Hello to all the people reading my post ! It has been a while but the SoCal remodel took far longer than expected and in a way is still on-going, barn wiring, Forge Setup, and the new compressor system !

My Max 28 took a fit and decided not to start.
It has been giving me trouble starting for a while, if I bounce on the seat it would start... Seat Safety Switch right, that was my guess.

I jumper the Seat Switch out and the engine started but as soon as I let go of the key, from the start position, the engine stopped running.

Any suggestions ?

Fuel solenoid. Know issue with that model. :thumbsup:

Is there a step by step on removal of the Fuel Solenoid ?

Step x step.. seriously?? It screws in & out.. just measure it before removal..
Just google>> mahinda max 28 injection pump.. theres videos & pictures..

Yes seriously ! I like to know what to expect !

Thanks, I have done nothing to this tractor since I purchased it four years ago... I'll give it that !

I didn't know if there were internal connections I needed to worry about, or as you said measure the position... !

I have worked on vehicles, Car and Trucks, but never a diesel and or tractor, the same yes but knowing what tot expect is a help !

U haven't touched it in 4 years?? maybe that's why it isn't starting.LOL.. Just kidding.
The sol. is to the left of the injection pump.. looks like a small soda can.. it screws into the block..
For some unknown reason they made extra long threads on it w/ a large lock nut.. just measure it before removing..
The "book" gives a long, drawn-out explaination on how to set it..
I do it the easy way.. I've done it 100x & it works just fine.. probably better & more accurate than the "book"..
With the solenoid backed out & the engine running.. screw the sol. IN until the engine slows down & shuts off.. tighten the lock nut.. plug it back in.
NOW.. try it w/ the key switch.. start the engine, shut it off.. if it struggles to shut off or has a "run-on" condition.. screw it IN some more.. about 1/2- full turn.. retest..
