Mahindra Max 26XLT or Kioti CK2510

Hey guys looking for opinions between these 2 models.

Max 26 XLT
25.9 @ 2500 1318cc Mitsubishi
pump output 5.8 implements, 8.5 gpm total
1973 lbs HST, 1896 lbs Shuttle
HST and shuttle 8F/8R
54 inch loader bucket, 1402 lbs lift to 82 inches
3 point lift capacity 2315 lbs

CK2510
24.5 @ 2600 1647cc Daedong
7.6 gpm implements,11.3 gpm total
2260 lbs Shuttle/HST
HST and Manual 6F/2R
50 inch bucket, 1092 lbs lift to 87 inches
3 point lift capacity 1203 lbs

What confuses me here is that the Kioti has more pump flow but significantly less lift than the Mahindra. The Kioti weights 400+ pounds more which is obviously good. I like the idea of the manual for mechanical simplicity but would rather have the F/R shuttle on the Max than the true manual on the Kioti. I think if I were to go with the Kioti I'd go HST but the shuttle on the Max. The Max is a Mitsubishi built tractor from Japan and the Kioti is Korean by Kioti parent company Daedong.

And just for some back ground I have 2.5 acres, mostly cleared. I run a Scag ZTR for mowing so this tractor will be used for some ground engagement fixing dips in the yard, tilling, fence post, wood work, yard debris clean up, etc.

I quoted both and the Mihendra was 2k more or so with the options i added. The kioti can take the factory cab as well, its a dealer installed option but is a factory cab.
I would look at TYM as they make Mahindras anyways and are significantly cheaper. I was quoted 14k for a Tym 254 with cab/heat and loader , where as the comparable Kioti was 26 and the Mahindra was 28k or something I believe. My numbers were all with cab, loader and front blower except the TYM blower would have been another 5-6 to the cost above.

Mitsubishi makes both the Max and 1600 series Mahindra, not TYM. TYM might make the eMax but not sure.

Have you tried any of those two.
I recommend you drive them and try the loader and other functions.

I own a Max and is a great tractor.

Hopefully test driving tomorrow. We'll see. I found a dealer who has both the HST and Shuttle Max 26XLT on the lot and a Kioti dealer who had an HST 2510. But the guy at the latter dealer said "I haven't stocked a manual tractor on the lot in 30 years" so I'll have to look elsewhere for a manual Kioti.

If I'm not mistaken the manual in the CK2510 is not a shuttle shift, meaning you will have to actually select the reverse gear (like the standard transmission in a car), I have the Max shuttle shift, and I do allot of Grapple and Loader work, love the thing. But I understand why the majority prefer HST.
If I have to decide between a 2 range HST and a 8x8 Shuttle, I'll go with the Shuttle.

I can be extra precise using the Low range and 1st or 2nd gear.

You will also feel the difference in power between the shuttle and HST, specially in low HP machines.

Try both and get to your own conclusions.

There are also other models you might want to consider, if you can/want.

Massey Ferguson 1526
LS XJ2025
Branson 2510h -I almost got of those, it has every single feature you want in a tractor this size.
Yanmar SA324/SA424
TYM 234

Have fun with your research.

Kioti has more pump flow but significantly less lift than the Mahindra, which confuses me.

All other factors being equal, pump flow will determine how quickly hydraulic cylinders fill. Size of hydraulic cylinders relative to weight of FEL will determine bucket lift capacity.

I write "all other factors being equal" because the marketeers often win in determining what statistics are published, not the engineers.

i can see the appeal of selecting your gears and the nastalgia of it, but I would really try both. With operating equipment to have HST is pretty handy with one less thing to worry about

Did you consider getting a price on the CK2610. I am not sure how much more it is than the 2510 but it is built on a larger heavier frame with more clearance and lift capacity. I looked at the geared CK2610 and as I recall only 2nd and reverse are synchronized. All other gears required clutching and stopping to shift. Read up carefully on the 2510 Gear model.

I believe you're right about the geared Kiotis. I'll probably go HST if I go Kioti. The 2610 might be a little too big for my use cases but I'll check them out when I head over to the dealer in a bit.
