New to Mahindra and cannot find out who makes their tractor engines, especially in the smaller models, 2015. Thanks

That's right. And ALL the 15 series have Mitsubishi power, made in Japan. That is a primary reason I chose my specific tractor.

I believe most other Mahindra tractors have the Daedong diesel, made in S. Korea.

Remember the 15's are not Mahindra at all except for the decal. They are Mitsubishi through and through...This is a good thing.

Who makes the 4530 engine?

I know that the 4500/5500/6000/6500 engines were designed by AVL (Austrian) and are built by Mahindra in India. I'm assuming that the 4530 uses the same as the 4500. Oh, by the way, the engines in the 00 series are about as robust as any I've ever seen on a tractor (,,,,,including the Perkins that's used in a number of tractors. Only issue I've heard of is in the 7520 (uses the 6000 engine with a turbo) which has the gear driving the hyd pump (the thread is below somewhere) in one case that failed. BobG in VA

Keep in mind Mahindra corp is a huge marketing operation as well as a tractor manufacturer. Some models they build in their own plants, others are contracted for so that they can offer a broad product line. It's the same business model as Deere, who offer some 'Deere' models manufactured by Yanmar, etc.

I expect Mahindra to be a more significant player in the years ahead. Note the other thread discussing that Mahindra may buy Jaguar from Ford.

Thought this link might be of some interest to some of you posting in this thread.......It's a link to some photos of the Mahindra factory in India (including photos of some of the engine assembly)

Does anyone know the origins of the 25 series engines? I know that they're Mahindra-built, but are they Mahindra-designed, or license built copies?

Also, it looks as if the MDI1895E engines in the 3325/3525 are of a completely different family than the NE45xR engines in the 5525 and 6025?

Thanks Red River for the factory tour, it was interesting. Can you imagine in seventy or eighty years, some fellow at an antique tractor show explaining how he came upon this old rusty Mahindra sitting in a fence row and just had to restore it. After stripping it down, he finally found some of the original color paint after unbolting some of the parts and that's why he painted it back the original pink color.:D:D
