Mahindra Buying Jaguar and Land Rover

I'm a Kioti owner but just wanted to congratulate you all, looks like Mahindra is going to buy Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford!

There was alot of talk about Ford selling off most of the businesses they own. I am alittle suprised Mahindra bought them. I hear Austin Martin is still up for sale any takers.

Aston Martin sale was completed on March 12, 2007, to a private investment firm headed by David Richards, chairman of a company named Prodrive, a motorsports and automotive engineering firm. Sale price was $848 million.

As for Jag/Land Rover, Blue Oval News has a link to a story in the New Zealnad Herald reporting that Tata Motors, an Indian company with joint venture ties to Fiat, is the winning bidder, details to be announced in Feb. 2008.

Current plans are for Ford to keep Volvo.

I will second this statement. I believe AutoWeek magazine also reported Tata to be the winning bidder. Tata is an Indian truck manufacturer, if I recall correctly.
