Howdy,
My 475 DI wouldn't start after a few months of sitting. I figured bad fuel so I drained all the lines, filters and tank and replaced with new Diesel. Still wouldn't start. After much looking, I found that no fuel would come from the delivery valve on the #1 cylinder. The other two seems to be working fine. I took the delivery valve apart and cleaned (though no obvious blockage) and reassembled. Still no fuel delivery. If I crank the engine with the delivery valve off, it pours fuel fine.
Any thoughts?
thanks!
Larry

:welcome: to TractorByNet!

Diesel doesn't go bad like gasoline does.

Your Operator Manual has a procedure for bleeding the air from the lines, it won't start if there is any air in the fuel system.

Agreed. I have bled the lines according to the manual and our local tractor mechanic. It was my second attempt to bleed when I noticed that fuel was only coming from 2 of the 3 delivery valves coming from the fuel pump. The pump is working and delivering pressurized fuel to 2 of the 3 delivery valves but the third isn't working even though it is as clean as a whistle.
Anybody know what would make a delivery valve not work even though it is clean?
