We have 7 to 14 inches of wet heavy snow coming in starting tonight so today I moved some snow off the sides of the driveway, that will give me more room for snow storage in those spots.

Picture 3487 is before I started moving snow from that area and 3491 is after, I gained over 12 feet on that corner.

I'm glad that I moved the snow the other day, I'll end up moving some of the snowfall from overnight. I think we received around 7 inches, I used the 4540 opening up the driveway and the RTV for the cleanup and plowing some trails in the woods so the wife can walk.

How many hours does the tractor have on it now? Have you had any problems with the emissions system yet?

This is just a guess but 1300 hours, no problems yet.

After my guess of 1300, I checked it the next day and it was 1334. I used it two days in a row moving snow and plowing out trails which put another 10 hours on it.

Thanks. That is impressive. I have had nothing but problems with the tier 4 system on my Kioti from the beginning. My previous tractor was a pre tier mahindra 4500. It gave me 11 years of trouble free service. I have been considering a mahindra 4550, but I brush hog 200 acres per year, often in dusty conditions, with lots of chaf accumulating in the radiator. The design of the hood and grille , with 5 screws seems like it would be a hassle to deal with, as cleaning the radiator has to be done daily when bush hogging. I'm not so much concerned with the end of day cleaning, but if it will have to be done in the field. My old Mahindra never overheated in the field, so cleaning could wait until the end of the day. Your thoughts?

I agree on taking the five screws out, it can be a small pain in the arse after a good days work. I've never had a problem with the 4540 overheating either but I'm not doing the work you are.

I wonder if you could put a front end bra on a tractor to stop some of the dust from getting into a radiator.

I hadn't used the 4540 in about three weeks so today it helped me out on some lifting of pine logs. I still have more logs that I'll use the tractor on and then after that, digging out some stumps.

We heat with wood and some years back we started burning pine during the shoulder season, this past heating season we burned 12 face cord of pine, that saved us just under 5 face cord of hardwood that we usually burn.

Loving the heck out of our 4540. I mean loving it. I know its not for everyone but for us its almost the perfect tractor. I used mine today to move our 10x10 chicken roosting house. So far I have zero complaints. I keep it lubed, I spray all non greaseable points with silicone spray, use the same FPPF diesel additive I use in my powerstroke and duramax and trickle charge when not in use for a while. We needed a work tractor that can put torque to the ground and thats what we got. We also heat 100% with wood I used to fill our wood shed with wood from our stacks with a wheel barrow and it would take hours and I would be dead after. Now it takes 20 minutes.
