remember the voltage readings can fool you without a load..
12volts (unloaded) aint nothing if the voltage drops 50% with load.. Glad you got it fixed, my battery cables need constant attention

That was one of the things that helped me figure it all out. I have a battery tester that has the ability to place a load on the battery. With no load I had 12.91 volts with a load it only dropped to 11.83 but it would drop to 10.7 at the solenoid without a load. I cut the insulation off the cable after I replaced it and it had all kinds of battery acid corrosion.

good tester, you would be surprised how many folks think 12v on the meter means full power available
