What is a fair price for a new Mahindra 4110, tractor only? I have been quoted a prices from $15825 to $16570. Is those prices in range or do they still have some moving room?

Interested in hearing how others did on buying a 4110.

Thanks

I have seen prices vary greatly on these tractors. You can get a 4110 with a FEL for around $16,500-$18,000 in Texas. Seems like in the Northeast folks pay more (delivery & cost of living I guess). I hate to bad mouth my own tractor, but I'd look around a little before buying a 4110 Mahindra. It is by far NOT a perfect tractor. PTO Solenoid problems, oil filter issues, difficult to fuel up, flakey power steering, and seems like the list of problems with the 4110 is growing every week! Like I said, it is the model I own, but I'd look around. I think I could have done better. Maybe not money wise, but quality wise. Quality and lack of quality remains after the price is forgotten. Good luck.

I had heard about the fuel fill up problem, but not the rest. Maybe I do need to keep looking. Just when I thought I had started to make up my mind.

Thanks for the info.

Befo/rer you run away from the red ones, check out the owning operating on the other boards. Mahindra isnt the only one that has quirks.

I have the 3510, same frame, smaller motor. I only have 31 hours on it so far. It seems to work fine for me. The dealer I bought mine from never seemed to have one in his shop while I was looking for tractors. I kept checking, his shop doors are open to the road side. Could one have come in and gone out? You bet.

I dont know how this one is going to work for me. I assume that it will function as it should.

I'm with Ken B on this one! Keep looking! I am very dissapointed with my 6000. All of what KenB said plus I've had starter problems, the steering pin fell out, and my fel has lost almost all of it's power. Not to mention, I believe my hour meter is reading wrong too.
I went to the local coop extension meeting the other night and talked to another fellow who had just bought the new 7520. I asked how he liked it and his reply was ok when it works. He too is having problems and the dealer we booght from doesn't want to hear about it. He'd love to sell us another tractor, but he won't take care of the ones we have. I have managed to get everything up to this point fixed under warranty, but what happens when there is no warranty.
That being said. I'll make you a deal on a 6000!

I work at a Mahindra dealership and we have sold hundreds of the Mahindra tractors . The warranties have been few and far between and we sell more 3510 and 4110 tractors than we do any other models . As far as the PTO problems we have had a few but no many and so far no major problems. When you go looking at other brands try and look in the service department and see how many of their tractors are in for repairs. We sold other brands of tractors before we took on Mahindra and now all we sell is Mahindra best move we ever made. All tractors break down i don`t think you will find a brand that will not. Thats just my 2 cents worth.

I've had great service from my 2810HST, seems to be a solidly built machine. One thing to note, the 4110 & 6000 are two different tractors from different sources. The 4110 is a TYM unit from S. Korea w/ Mahindra nameplates. The 6000 is a Mahindra made tractor from India. Could the issues be more dealer related? All tractors are subject to problems to some degree, read the discussions on the major brands. The dealer that addresses the issues promptly and keeps the customer happy can be key to a good experience.

I agree with Poboy
- We have sold many "10" series, they have been our most popular tractor. as well as the "00 series and "15" series. We have only had 1 pto sol. issue and it was a ground issue with the sol. it had been torn off by a stick. I have had no steering issues on any "10" series. I have to say we do very little warranty work and when we do have an issue Mahindra has been great about taking care of it. Sounds like it may be a combination of your tractor and dealer.
I have many pleased customers with there purchase of a Mahindra in all series "10","00", "15" and no complaints as of now in any series. Don't let the few discourage you from buying a Mahindra, make shure it is from a good dealer, no matter what brand you do end up purchasing. The dealer can realy make the difference.

I guess I don't understand all these problems big and small with the 4110 series,, I had one,, not really a mechanical or definately not warranty issue, with the hoe,, The dealer and Mahindra made more than well on that call, it was simply the Bradco 11ft hoe needs lots of hydraulic fluid to operate correctly. The 7gpm pump on the 4110 doesn't come close. Mahindra and the dealer did install a tank and pto pump at 14 gpm and never a problem since. Where I live the weather is radical sometimes turning by the hour, extreme cold last winter -20 or more below 0, plowed snow, hog mowed hay in high heat and hay chaff blowing around, had it in deep mud, you name it.. Never had a solonoid problem, pto switch problem or anything else ever go wrong. About the closest I can get is while in the extreme cold, it takes a while before the loader valve "frees up".. Real sluggish for first ten minutes or so. Yes, I would like to see a better loader and one **** of a lot quicker than the KMW's they come with,, but still, subtracting the hoe pump situation out of the equation, the problems add up to zero..

I also have a 2810 HST and have had great luck with it.

I had some minor issues that where caused by the dealer, but it wasn't any fault of Mahindra or the tractor.

If you look at some of dealers they not only sell tractors , but ATVs, motorcycles, trucks , heavy equipment, and almost anything that has wheels on it. and then you look out back and find only one or two mechanics that haven't worked there very long and they work on everything. It doesn't give you great confidence in the dealer if you have a problem.

I think my Mahindra is great and have 240 hours on it.
Spend time checking out the dealer as well as the tractor on what ever tractor you buy.

The dealer could be just as important as the tractor.

My First and current Tractor is a Mahindra 4110 with FEL, bought it used with 350 hrs and a transferable (up in Jan. 05) warranty - 425 hrs on it now, one time major warranty repair was a new pto shaft- company fixed under warranty even though it was more operator error then tractor defect. I Have Horse's and 31 acres of rocky and forest land and has done everything I needed it to do, including Removing a hill on the side of my house and filling in a pond with the dirt, I have pushed over small trees (6-8 in) roots and all,( the tractors weight give it more power then I expected), and have actually done some hay at my neighbor's farm when his machine broke down ( I buy my hay from him). plus the everyday manure and fence posts chores. I do not regret buying this tractor, it has made my life easier, because I was doing a lot of the above by hand for the last 7 years (since starting with Horse's). My dealers current price for the 4110 with loader is $18500.00 Good luck shopping- and if you should find that perfect tractor that never needs repair let me know
P.S. Forgot to mention pulling down logs from the mountain for firewood

Guys all I can do is tell you the truth. That is that I am dissatisfied. I understand all tractors break down. However a person should not have the trouble I had with a new tractor! I started my tractor all summer long with a screwdriver. I should not have had to do that. For some reason my tractor has eaten 2 starters. Actually just the solenoid, but none the less. My dealer has been extremely slow in dealing with anything that happens IF he does. Most things I have fixed on my own. I would be glad to sell any of you guys out there my Mahindra!

You just answered your own question,, the dealer takes his time, if he wants too. My only issue, the Bradco hoe with not enough hydraulic power to run properly, I have to say, that my dealer, New England tractor, did tell me up front, We will fix it one way or another and it probably will take several weeks to do so.. They did in fact spend hours on various phone calls between Bradco engineers, Mahindra in Texas ( only U.S. office at the time) and my self. The reason I know this is those same people they talked to, also called me within minutes of their phone calls. A decision was made, I want to say Mani Isheyer (sp) a Mahindra VP of some department, the dealer, and I agreed to their change design... Start to finish it was probably 7 weeks or so.. The end result was a well designed PTO pump w/15 gall reservoir and the hoe works flawlessly. I have called the dealer for simple things like what filters, kinds of oil, ordered other hoe buckets, or whatever,, always right there or they tell you, we'll find out and get back. Never more than 24 hrs for an answer... I am a beleiver now that a dealer can make or break a pleasant tractor experience vs non pleasant,,

Yeah I called my dealer when I couldn't get my pto to work and he said he had no idea what could be wrong and he'd call Mahindra and get back to me. Well that was about 3 weeks ago and he never did call back. I called them and every time conveniently the owner is out and the service dept says he is the only one that knows what Mahindra said could be wrong. Now I fixed my pto by adjusting the lever that engages the pto, but point is they never did get me an answer they just put me off. Now whether that's Mahindra or the dealer it's wrong. The thing that urks me the most is after I had my starter changed the first time it wasn't 3 weeks and the solenoid that was out again. That time it took me all summer to get them to come look at it. Now did you start your tractor all summer with a screwdriver, then have the steering pin fall out, then wait weeks for a fix?

It's up to you to call Tomball Texas, demand to talk to someone in charge and explain what is going on,,, You will get results I am sure,, This is obviously a dealer who hasn't a clue where to turn or how to fix things. He is just using up time hoping you will forget whatever the problem is,,, I wouldn't waste another second and call and complain direct to Mahindra... I did this with the hoe issue,, In retrospect, after calling my dealer and knowing I was going to call Texas, I was extremely harsh to those in Texas.. I didn't have to be that way or come off that way simply because Mahindra would have addressed the problem anyway,, I have heard of other issues, all basically minor, where the guys call Texas direct and all have got quick and satisfactory results... I think this is the avenue you should approach as talking to your dealer you might as well talk to a tree in the front yard..

I have to cringe when I read letters from dissatisfied Mahindra owners. In central Wisc, Mahindra is an unknown brand and I seem to always find myself defending my 4500's durability and reputation in the world market. I tow it on a triaxle gooseneck trailer to the jobsites and at every stopsign and stoplight, I often get the quizzical look and stupid smile from someone who is probably thinking I'm a peddler or like I just got it from a hardware store. If my 4500 had lips...I'd kiss it! I don't hope for it to do the job, I demand it! I don't hope it will start in the cold mornings, I know it will. Was I just lucky with this model meeting my expectations? Did I just get a good tractor built on the right day of the week? I'll be darned if I would cross the posts on the solenoid to get it to start. Anything less than what I bought or was led to believe is unacceptable! Improper grounding has been a problem for Mahindra and a topic that I have expounded on in various topics in this forum. I'm lucky in that I have an excellent dealer 210 miles away. Luckily for him or I, I have not needed his services and when I have my tractor in his area on one of my jobs.....I take it in for normal servicing.
The dealer is responsible for servicing the machine you bought from him. Read back the topics in this forum and whenever a dealer couldn't/wouldn't/can't resolve your particular problem - a call to Mahindra resolved the problem. There is always an excellent rep serving your territory and he'll get you results. If you somehow got a "lemon" - demand a factory buyback. One mistake that Mahindra made when they introduced sales in the U.S., was to allow any mom/pop dealer into the fold. This was a bad choice from Mahindra's standpoint but it isn't your problem now. Resale values on tractors is about the same as on a car/truck. The hobby farmer's glut market for a tractor has been filled and you will sustain a loss on trying to trade in your Mahindra for the other color or brand. You bought a product expecting it to perform......it is up to you to demand exactly that piece of equipment NOW!!!!! Hang in there and good luck!

Heck of a letter, I agree 100%, bought my 4110 used on Sept 15, 2004 with 350 hrs, now up to 435 hrs and have not been dissapointed yet, the small stuff that goes wrong you expect, especially since I bought used, but this is a strong tractor I'm
glad to have.

I have to disagree with with KenB on Mahindra quality. His price range is about right. I looked around a bit before buying a Mahindra 4110 at the dealer 10 minutes from my home. I paid 18,600 before trade. Mine has a KMW FEL and industrial tires. I have over 100 hrs on mine in 5 months and I have not had any of the problems KenB described. I have driven compact John Deeres and I like this better. My only concern is the steering cylinders exposed in the front could be damaged on stones or stumps. I will be building a bumper for the front next spring. The local dealer provides great support. I know that at least 3 local farmers stripped thier oil plugs out by overtightening the plug. Mahindra and the dealer replaced the pans for free.

It would seem, from reading most Mahindra posts, Mahindra is not immune from issues and that if you read post's on other brands (big three) neither are they. Most seem to have positive experiences with Mahindra and there is no indication others won't feel the same way.
