Follow up on overheating problem. We have been losing water but could not find where it was going. Finely water started blowing out of radiator. Pulled head to find blown head gasket. This has been a problem from day one on my 2005 4110.I believe the head gasket was bad when installed at factory. The metal ring on gasket for rear piston was split as if cut with a razor blade. The old gasket was made of fiber and metal seals the new replacement gasket is made of 3 steel layers. This tells me the factory knew they had a problem. But they didn稚 tell anyone or recall the tractors.

Yanmars, I think if you took the radiator out and laid it down and soaked it with hot soapy water and then ran a garden hose over it, you would eventually get all the debris out that has basically turned into a poor quality dirt glue. Or put it in a tub of water for a few hours and then go at it. Or take it to a radiator shop and have it tanked. She'll make ice cubes for a while after that and be easier to clean, at least for a couple of years until it gets gunked up again. There are certain combinations of chaff, dirt and moisture that make a fine paste. I suspect you have that issue, otherwise 120 psi would blow it out just fine. In fact 35 psi in a pressure regulated rubber tip blower normally does the job.

Thanks for being a good sport about my persistence.

Over the years since 2002 , 4110, always needed cleaned after couple years. Those pesky weeds, pollen etc. Got a leak few yrs ago. Sent 'er to radiator shop. Came back like new. Kept away from high stuff. If really needed to cut stuff, did it with my Woods 990 in reverse. Best protection, don't let it get high stuff. Gotta clean when needed. And, As weather gets hot I take side fenders off. Keeps that temp down.

Cheers and BE SAFE.......Coffeeman

Just an update. Got to 92 degrees today, heavy thick mowing but short enough no seeds etc. Ran warm but not overheating, the two side panels off helped a great deal.
