Mahindra 4010, I'm afraid to take it out of the barn

More problems with the 4010

I went to shut the tractor off and noticed the three-point dropped as soon as I shut it off. I wasn't going to take it in right away because I needed to get some logs out of the woods. I went into the woods for a couple hours and the right side steering failed; so I limped it out of the woods and to the trailer (I don't even disconnect the trailer from my truck anymore). Dropped it off a the dealer (Sunday) and the dealer called the next day, " hey, noticed the steering problem but did you notice the three point goes down when you lift the bucket?" I told him about the three point dropping after the tractor is shut down. So there's the third Major problem for a couple hours work with my Mahindra. It's been in the shop for over a week and a half; over a month for the year. :confused2::thumbdown:

The steering problem will probably be the steering cylinder again, but what would cause the three point to drop right after shutting it down or when using the bucket?

the 3 pt will drop by gravity when the valve under the seat it unscrewed to the open position. It's designed that way.

I had the opposite problem where mine was closed and I couldn't make the 3pt drop. It took me a while before I figured it out.

I dunno BB but I liked the 4010 more than the 3016 when i bought the 3016 last year. I thought the 4010 was a much stronger built tractor with the exception of one screw hanging down underneath the tractor at the differential housing that a skid plate fab wouldn't have fixed. It was almost 5 grand more than the 16 and the 16 was bigger already than my previous tractor and I wanted a geared tractor so.....the 3016 came home. The 16 has done everything I've asked and more but boy, did I have the jones for that 4010 and still envy you for owning one no matter what you're facing with it. It can't stay broken forever. I'd ask for a new scv fel control. That should fix the bucket drop.
