Ah my bad I thought we were talking about an HST tractor
No problem Navasot, I have a lot of experience with diesel trucks and often get in trouble bringing examples of trucks to a tractor forum. A HST tractor will allow you to drop it into gear with the throttle elevated. The particular truck was an auto with a clutch (computer servo shifted 10 speed) so it had a safety device that kept you from slamming it into gear and popping the clutch, under load.
