While mowing, the oil pressure light lit. As I checked the oil level, I noticed the oil filler tube was missing. Is that a common problem?

Thought about putting an expansion plug in the opening. Any issues with doing so?

Plug would be OK, IF...you made sure it was a very good seal.

But first, I'd drain the oil, and even run some diesel thru the engine (without it running) to flush out all the potential crap that went into the filler pipe hole while the cap was gone. Then new oil and filter. And I'd probably change the oil in another 10-25 hours of running just to make sure it wasn't filled with more foreign material.

But that's just me.

Thank you, duffer. Good ideas. Actually, the filler pipe is missing too, but your point is the same.

I had that happen on my 4510 once. Not sure why. Noticed it before any damage occurred.

What filler hose? My 2004 3510 oil fill is a hole that requires TWO funnels to get filled.

Actually, DiskDoctr, you're right. There isn't a fill pipe or tube. The hole I spoke of is for a plug. It is for adding oil, but I've never used it. I always add oil at the top of the engine.

I thought you may have some mystery filler tube that I would HAVE to get, LOL. Thanks for the clarification.
