Mahindra 3016 3pt suddenly quit working!

Guys,

First time poster, long time reader.

A couple weeks ago, I added rear aux hydraulics to my Mahindra 3016 to run a log splitter and other aux devices. The system worked perfectly for quite a while and then suddenly, the 3pt simply quit going up.

The thing is literally limp, I can lift it up and shake it and it just falls with no resistance whatsoever, regardless of the position of the handle.

I'm about 98% sure I ran all my hydraulic lines correctly - Manifold block "P" -> loader control "IN", "BYD" -> new valve "IN", "BYD" -> manifold block "B" (where loader BYD used to go). New valve "OUT" is T'd into line with loader valve "OUT" to tank.

My tank is full of fresh fluid and the loader and new valve aux feed works perfectly. Just for giggles, I'll probably run the lines back to the stock locations for testing.

Any ideas from you geniuses before I take it to the dealer? Is there any kind of special relief valve just for the 3pt?

And, yes, I did check the speed/lock out adjustment.

Yes sir!

It's a Cross BA series, single spool valve. I picked it since the other control valve is a Cross and it has the BYD option.

OK, so just to follow up, today I went to unload a blade out of my truck. I was picking it up with the loader and when I looked around to back up, the 3pt was fully raised!

I'm like, "WTH???"

Anyway, I tried the control a few times and adjusted the speed/lockout knob and it works normally again. Only thing I can imagine is that there was a big bubble in the valve or piston somewhere and it needed a load on the front loader to move it on through.

Whatever, it's working again and I can get some stuff done!

It's always nice when a plan comes together. :thumbsup: As I was reading your original post my first thought was that you had air in your lines.
