For what it's worth I use the Rotella T6 5W-40 in most of my engines.
I don't know how someone comes up with a 100 hours equaling 1000 miles.
I always went by 100 hours equaling in excess of 5000 miles, the old mechanical hour meters calculated hours with the engine at pto speed,
so 100 hours times 50 or 70 mph would be 5000 to 7000 miles.
My pickup has an hour meter on it,
with 60,200 miles on it,
it has 309 hours of idle time,
1668 hours of driving time,
total hours of 1977.
60,200 miles / 1977 total hours = 30.45 mph x 100 hours = 3045 miles/ hundred hours
60,200 miles / 1668 hours driving = 36.09 mph x 100 hours = 3600 miles per hundred hours.
I drive slow mostly on secondary roads, someone driving more highway and faster would have more miles per 100 hours.
All that to say I change most of my engines every 100 hours or annually.
My pickup is supposed to be every 7000, I do it at 5000 miles or under.
BTW- most would tell you that 100 hours is roughly 1000 miles of use for figuring service intervals. So if you service every 300 hours that痴 only 3000 or so equivalent miles- that痴 an easy life for oil. OTR trucks and most cars have service intervals that are 3x or more that for the oil. I say all that to reenforce that we typically baby tractors when it comes to servicing. Yours (and mine) will be no different.....haha
