Hello Mahindra folks,

To start I have to be honest, Mahindra was not on my purchasing radar. I was leaning blue, green or the other red. But I came across a 2003 2310 with 400 hours, FEL, for $9,500 at a dealer not far from my farm (yes, he seems like a good guy, so I wouldnt mind using him in the future.)

I have searched the 2310 here on the site, but saw little in regards to owner satisfaction or general review of the 10 series. I am confident that the hp is in my range, but the pto hp seems a little light. I will be bushhogging about 5 acres, most of it grass with some rougher spots of bushes. Has any one experienced any negatives when bushhogging.

I'd appreciate any feedback on both the machine and the price.

Thanks in advance.

My Kubota B7510HST (21 hp engine, 17 hp pto) with a 4-ft King Kutter brush hog had no trouble mowing 3-4 ft tall weeds on my 10 acre place. So that 2310 should have no trouble doing your mowing job.

BTW: I traded that B7510 last March for a Mahindra 5525 (54 hp engine, 45 hp pto) to do some haying. Mahindra makes good stuff.

I looks like that 2310 was produced from 2003-05. I assume the one you're looking at has 4WD. Average retail price ranges from $7300 to $8800 without the FEL. So that $9500 asking price looks reasonable.

Test drive that baby and make sure that the tranny works in all gears. Check the pto, the 3pt and the FEL. Get any maintenance records on the tractor. Check for leaks. Look for oil in the coolant system and coolant in the oil system. If there's blue smoke coming from the exhaust, the engine is burning oil, so be careful.

What is the pto hp on that model? I've got the 2810HST, and I think it's about 22+hp at the pto. It handles a 5' cutter well. I thought the 2310 was a 25hp gross, so pto hp should be close?

I sold a couple of them in their times and never really had any issue with them.
The only complaint I got is the loader was a little week for a tractor that size.
Is this one a gear or hydro?

I also sold a couple. My customers run 6" finish mowers, and 5" rotary cutters on their 2310's. Never had any issues with them either. If it is a gear model and doesn't have a loader on it, I have a new Bush Hog brand M246 loader for it. I would make you a good deal on it.

Ahh, the flu knocked me down for the past 5 days and I have not touched the computer since Friday.

I intend to test drive the tractor this weekend and talk more with the dealer. I appreciate all of your comments,
