As I recall, Harv was heavily involved with the "design team"... I think he sacrificed himself to several 44 ouncers during the prototype phase.

That was one of the threads that got me "hooked" on TBN! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
There were all kinds of guys throwing in suggestions for solving the design problems of the Chalkey Cup. Magnetics, chemical properties of plastics and glue, fabrication techniques, etc. etc. It was a real team effort. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I wonder how many Chalkey Cups ever actually got built by TBN members (?) /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I was one of many who took on the challenge. As I recall as well, the cup thread was a dominant topic when I first found TBN. That was quite a while ago and I still use this cup virtually every weekend. It may not be rocket science but it suits it's intended purpose extremely well.

OK Guys, I've tried searching because I was not a TBN'r at the time of the infamous cup project, and I cannot find it. Is the link to this thread still around? I need to catch up!

I sort of read it as, "Speaking of magnetic cups, how's the pine beetle situation?" /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Fact is, we seem to have the beetles under control. There's only one little stand of infested trees that we didn't get down before burn season ended, but there has been no sign of them spreading, probably 'cuz there's nothing to spread to in that particular area.

Man! This has to be one of the best threads I have ever read.

My wife says that Tim Taylor and I are twins, and this thread just dripped with "more power!". Absolutley wonderful.

I think the stukcup people did get the idea from here. I noticed they used a lot of the same words from the thread. They must have waited until the glue R&D was completed! I see that Forcefield is still in business, so now I need to get me some #41's and make a Yanmar version. I wonder if 7-11 still has the mega-gulp? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
