Magnatrac Crawler Engine Specs - Kohler

Hi, I have been looking at the Struck hydro crawlers for a job on slopes, at different times they have used Kohler Command pro, B&S Vanguard, & now Honda GX 680.

I have checked the max angles the engines can work at, B&S 15 deg constant, up to 30 deg intermittent (however B&S will not define intermittent.) Honda GX 680, 20 degrees, Kohler 25 degrees.

I cannot find from where I am if the Kohler max angle is a constant rating, specs do not say, there is a toll free phone no - but this is not practical from overseas. I cannot email them as their site does not recognise my phone no or postal code.
On the face of it the Kohler seems the best engine for slopes, & all the owners using them on steep grades seem to have the Kohler powered MH 5000 anyway.
They have brought out a true dual path hystat - the new 4900, sadly it has the Honda, the Kohler would give me an extra 5 degrees, so I would never push it to the max.
As far as I know all the engines are gasoline carburated - not EFI or LPG - as they like to keep the machines simple for the home mechanic.
If anyone has a Kohler Command in something else - they might know the answer to this. Thanks, Pete

Don't know the specific model number that Struck uses, but saw several references to 25 degrees, like you mentioned.

Would someone comment on the effect, good or bad, legal or illegal, of using a 2 stroke oil mix in a 4 stroke air cooled engine. Someone I know does this when mowing a severe slope with a push mower and the mower is still running.

This is pretty much the info I have seen, wish I could find out if the 25 deg is short term only or continuous. I was thinking of asking Struck if there could be a suitable Kohler option on the 4900, Otherwise the 5000 & 4800 models used Kohler 25 Hp.
The 4800 went on much later & included the 5 bottom roller track frame (but only 3 rollers were fitted per side) It though has a single gear pump doing everything. My idea was to refit with twin pumps as the 5000 & others had - to give me the 2 speed overdrive. There are often low hrs 4800s come up at not bad prices. All the hydraulic info & diagrams is published in online manuals
I have also been looking into the Boxer stand on tracked - but this has no brake other than the hydraulics.
