Buying Advice M9540 On The Way

TripleR, that's good to hear. Thanks for the pic. The 9540 has been toying with the DS96 even in very thick and tall grasses/weeds. Me thinks the BW180 is going to make it sweat a little. :)

You should be fine, there are a couple of members using that combination. Power won't be an issue though it might bounce you around a bit on rough ground or hills. I have never used a bat wing, so I am just guessing.

I don't quite know how to answer that..... apparently they could find nothing wrong after keeping it for 8 days, but they didn't test it under operating conditions (2200 RPM w/ PTO engaged pulling a 10 foot Woods shredder). They said they never could get the bucket to drop although he said allowable tolerance is a drop of 2" in 5 minutes which is about what it was dropping before it went back. That in itself sounds bizarre. If I were told before I bought it that the bucket may drop 2" every 5 minutes and that was within tolerance, I would have had to rethink the deal. Anyhow, the bucket no longer drops, the shifting is fine, there is still a slight noise and feel in the steering like its low on fluid, but overall its outstanding. Methinks there was an issue w/ a hydraulic valve or something that mysteriously fixed itself?!
I remembered this thread you talking about a noise,I just bought a new M7040 and it was making a noise and was coming from the 4x4 leaver,so I got to messing with the lever enough and all is good now:confused3:. But I agree with tripleR this will be the 3rd Kubota and never had any issues with the loader dropping but on the M5040 I traded in the tilt was leaking down and they fixed it said had a valve sticking. Hope its still makin a hand....

Yessir, its making a hand, really love the 9540, I finally got the 4x4 lever to quit making that noise by just unscrewing it a little. Regarding the loader, I'm pretty sure there was a valve sticking on mine before it went to the shop, they either fixed it and didn't fess up or it just worked itself out. That bucket was really dropping there for awhile. :us-texas:
