Anyone had any experience with a new (10 hours) M8540 4WD with Hydraulic Shuttle setting up a vibration at about 3 mph? It vibrates much worse when turning? Dealer is coming out to drive it and see if he can figure it out?

We also have a FEL on it but no other tools. Rear tires have 22 psi and max recommended is 24. Front tires have 32 psi and max recommended is 36. Vibration occurs with FWD engaged or disengaged. We can't hear any gears growling or other unusual noise. So far we don't think it is a real major problem but is rather annoying to get a good shaking when you hit that 3 mph speed.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Get a good mechanics stethescope and pin point the exact area of the vibration in your transmission before your Dealer shows. He will get on Kubotalink and research prior warranties and service bulletins for your phenomenon and compare what he finds before he ever gets there. Assist in driveability to recreate the vibration. I have a M9540 that had a front end axle noise that turned out to be a wheel that had the disc bolts lose their torque and sounded just like a tapered bearing preload failure. Kubota and Dealer couldn't figure it out, wife thinks outside the box and switched wheels on the axle and the noise went from right side to left side. Go figure..... please post your findings.

Also... I don't know where you bought but Art White has many years of experience and he will contribute his knowledge to your situation.

There are no bulletins for this problem,.. the closet thing is shuttle cable not engaging fully and popping out.

I would check wheel torque on all 4,.. and also drive it in reverse and see if it vibrates as well

I wonder if the 4WD mechanism is completely disengaging. I'd also check the front wheel toe-in as per the owner's manual (easy to do).

Hmm-this sounds familar. Have you noticed any problems with the tractor wandering off when driving in a straight line?
You have a loader on it?
Cab tractor or no cab?

It is a cab tractor.

We don't think it is a real serious thing but are still looking. Beginning to wonder if air in rear tires could be a problem.

Many Thanks to everyone.
