I have a 2012 M7040HDC. I think that it is in 4WD all the time. I disengage the lever and raise the wheels and drive backwards, the front wheels turn. If I rotate the tires by hand, they do turn with alot of resistance. Rotating one tire spins the opposite on in the opposite direction (Normal for limited slip). I have checked the linkage and it all operates smooth.
