M7040 suhd hood removal?

Can anybody shed light on how I remove the hood on a M7040suhd kubota tractor, I think I've blown a radiator hose but I can't see where it is coming from? I can't raise the hood enough to get in there to see where the problem is.

Don't know about the 7040 suhd, but on our M8540 the grille guard has to be rotated forward to allow the hood to be raised, or am I misunderstanding your problem?

Thanks, my grille/hood lifts from the front and hinges on the firewall. I see a hinge pin, but it doesn't look like it can be removed without taking apart the instrument panel to get to bolts that hold the hinge pin in place.

From viewing the M7040SUHD parts schematic it appears the hood unlatches at the front and pivots up at the rear very similar to my M7040DDC-1. You should be able to view/replace radiator hoses withoutthe need to remove the hood/bonnet.

Unfortunately, you can't get your head in there far enough to see where the problem is, even with the bonnet up all the way. It's definitely going to have to be removed.

The hood not opening farther is the biggest gripe with my Kubota.

I wanted to remove my hood once and came to the same conclusion as you, there was no easy way to remove the hinges.

Thanks David, was a carter pin or some keeper holding the hinge pin in place?
