I' m thinking about buying a m6800 with a front end loader, is 4wd a plus /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif with a loader? I will mostly be using the loader to move and feed round bales of hay.

4WD is defintely a plus with a front end loader. I think the M6800 is big enough to handle those round bales whether you have 4WD or not as long as you're on solid ground, but if you ever have to work on slick surfaces or mud, you'll be especially glad you got the 4WD; much less likely to get stuck. And if you're using that front end loader for dirt and other such things, it'll push into the piles or dig better. Some folks say it's about the same as adding 25% to your power.

I have a M6800 4wd with loader. If your going to get a loader get the 4wd. You want beleive the difference it makes. I use to use my brother in laws ford tractor with loader 2wd and the tires will spin a lot. And as Bird said if it gets wet it will make a difference.

Inseemee the best quote I have received was $21500 for a 4wd M6800 with the large tires and 4 rear remotes. The loader price would vary between $4400-$4700 depending on choosing the Bushhog brand or Woods.
