M5040 wheel/tire spacing???

I am looking at buying a Kubota M5040. I have a question about the outside width of rear tires. Right now they measure 81" at their widest point. It has R4 tires on it. My trailer measures 75" or 76" wide.

Here is my question...

Is the 81" a set measurement? I have read that there are different spacing settings for the wheels/tires. If it is adjustable what are the various width settings at the widest point of the rear tires.

Trying to decide whether to buy this tractor if its too wide for my tailer because I would have to buy a wider trailer. Thanks for the help!

What's the weight capacity of your trailer? That tractor with front end loader, bucket, and loaded R4's easily weighs 8500 lbs. Add a heavy implement like a big rotary cutter or box blade and you could be close to 10k.

There is some adjustment ability with the R4 wheels, but I don't know the range. I think the wheel inserts an wheel rims are both reversible, giving four possible widths. I can look at my M6040 tomorrow evening and try to figure it out.

The tread width probably goes from 52" to 68". With a minimum tractor width of 73".

Checking my Op manual the M5040 (2wd) is 4520 lb & (4wd) is 4675 lb. My M6040 (4wd) starts at 4785. It came with FEL, Land Pride 3596 rear blade and Rimguard in tires. It now weighs 9685. I have my rear tires set at the widest and it is 80 inches - outside to outside. The OP manual indicates the minimum tread width for your M5040 is 73 inches. I would sure want the trailer to be able to handle 10K.
