M5040 or M7040??

Still working on it. I am favoring the M7040 but the outlay is more. Of course I plan on keeping the tractor a long time thus if you break it down by the year it really not that much different. It appears from some of the responses that my quote is a little high. I agree that is why I posted to see what everyone else felt. I still have to do a little more searching.

A local dealer that seemed reasonable to me told me roughly $37,000 on a M7040 cab with L1153. That isn't the model I was looking to buy so that may not be his "best price" (I drove that one but was really looking for an M5040 ROPS). However, I'm adding the information just as a suggestion that your quoted price may not be all that high. I don't know where you are, but I can tell you that Kubota dealers in Williamston and Novi Michigan each have the M7040 cab in stock (and those two dealers aren't related to each other).
